good day to us all..I'm about to go live with this web site, though I still can't entirely answer the question I had from my friend Javier (check out his Jam in the Stream)..which was: what do you want the web site to accomplish? ..not sure how to phrase it. Basically, and while I still can, I want to be part of making music happen. And I've always felt that music-making became somehow more legitimate if it was being carefully recorded or there were people present other than the musicians. And the more people there are, and the more they're paying attention the better! Accordingly, people need to know about stuff..hence, a web site!!

as ever, I welcome your questions, comments and/or collaboration (when possible🙂)..reach me via the email links hereabouts. talk soon.. jwh ✌️🎶🧡♾️

the photo doesn't do justice to the beauty of that spot, at that moment, especially with Mr Redface's mug.. But seriously, Harmony Park Music Garden is a sublimely beautiful and cosmic place. What a treat to play there again! ..and again it was with Bigfoot County, our intergenerational, acoustic Grateful Dead band. Started now ten years ago as an outgrowth of our Twin Cities' jam community, Bigfoot County survived the devastating loss of co-founder Max Graham and now gathers when called to raise the roof or settle down easy.. Next up: August 9, 2025 for Built to Last Festival at the Hook and Ladder in Minneapolis.

yow! what happened to the summer? and now, nearly halfthrough autumn..anyway each day is a gift, right? And a thousand things are there to drag us down..I'll just say that there's near-instant joy available to us all through music. It's generative act, imaging, then creating and sustaining vibrations..and when there's some kind of receivership(?) involved, even better but that's not even necessary ..like at JJ's on Tuesday, when road warriors April and Scully got up to sing in a basically empty room. Regardless, the release I felt from each of them was palpable..she owned Cranberries' Zombie and Four Non-Blonds and after much convincing April got him onstage and he friggin belted out Born to Be Wild..it was some kind of catharsis, with myself on guitar and Rick Meiller on cajon and Scully just tearing into the vocal..😳 ...an empowering, raw throwdown that lives on (hopefully) well into his long memory. Come hang out at JJ's in Portage on the second Tuesday evening of the month! ✌️🎶🧡♾️
